Our Company

AAI Sales is a manufacturer's representative specializing in the application of electric motors and power transmission products. Started in 1993, AAI Sales (formerly Advanced Automation, Inc.) is continually searching for new markets and ways to provide added value in the markets we now serve, and to provide our customers with a complete line of products to sell and from which to design their equipment. We service two different customer bases; distributors and OEM's. We work with OEM's to design and engineer product. Sales are then directed through distributors or directly OEM's as is appropriate.

 

Our People

Lowell Thomas began AAI Sales in 1993 and has spent the past 25 years in the Denver area. From 1976-1980, Lowell worked for Colorado Conveyor Co; from 1980-1981 for Schloss & Schubart (now IBT); and from 1981-1993 for SEW Eurodrive. Lowell's focus is in the application of motors, power transmission and motion control products.

Dawne Fink joined AAI Sales in 2003.  Prior to AAI, she was with Phillips Petroleum as an Auditor and Accountant for 8 1/2 years.  Dawne handles all accounting related duties as well as customer service assistance for AAI Sales.

Jim Busch joined AAI Sales in 2001 and opened our Northern Colorado office. Jim’s strong background in engineering includes eight years with ESAB-Heath, in Fort Collins, designing automation equipment, as well as 10 years with Melco Industries in Denver.

Our Position

on "Distributor vs. OEM " Sales

AAI Sales has a commitment to sell our products through industrial distribution where economically practical and where the distributor can add benefits for the OEM by designing, scheduling, or stocking and releasing product as scheduled. However, there are cases which may require an OEM to purchase directly from a manufacturer for a number of reasons. In those cases, we will bring this to the attention of the distributor and sell the product directly to the OEM.

Our Market Area

The market area which is covered by AAI Sales includes Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming. We represent several lines for the El Paso area and Montana.
